The Opportunity

Southwark Council is excited to announce General Projects as the successful bidder to bring the Grade II listed Walworth Town Hall (WTH) complex back into active use. These majestic buildings have sat at the heart of active civic and community life in Walworth for over a hundred years and both the council and the community are keen to see their prominence reinstated.

Location

The historic Walworth Town Hall complex is on Walworth Road, in Zone 1, just south of Elephant and Castle town centre and the Elephant Park regeneration site.

General Projects is delighted to have been selected by Southwark Council to lead the restoration and reinvention of the iconic Walworth Town Hall into a new creative workspace, community and educational hub. In the coming months we will be arranging a series of engagement sessions inviting the community to work with us in shaping the proposals for the building, in particular the activities program for the ‘Society Room’, which will be a permanent community space. In the meantime, if you would like to share your ideas with us please drop us a line at General@GeneralProjects.com
